e-Learning for Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (elefENT) is a free and highly interactive self-directed e-learning initiative which supports and enhances the training of Otolaryngologists.
e-lefENT will help to improve ENT knowledge, clinical and surgical skills among ENT trainees and aims to deliver safer patient care. The e-learning sessions will reflect the syllabus set by the Royal Colleges’ Intercollegiate Speciality Surgical Curriculum Project (ICSP) and support the implementation of the standards of the Royal College of Surgeons.

We've found that there is a lot of unpublished research out there that sits on the hard drive of ENT surgeons' computers. It may not have made it to journals as it may have been the victim of one of the following - Publication bias (The results may not be exciting enough to make the article easily publishable in print.) - Simple audits of results (Many journals will not accept an audit of results unless it shows a closing of the audit loop or the subject matter is unusual.) - Knock-back (Sometimes there is a temptation to give up on good papers that have been rejected by peer-reviewed journals.)
The aim of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for junior doctors to present their research and audit results at a regional level. We hope that this will allow interesting results to be presented to an interested audience. We also hope that this will provide a less intimidating opportunity to present research and audit work publicly.

is a new concept to provide high quality training in Otorhinolaryngology, and is the brainchild of Mr M Shahed Quraishi, Consultant Otolaryngologist at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. His aims are to provide a platform for free courses in Otolaryngology and allied fields with a faculty of national and international repute. The dedicated faculty and the support of Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust allow the courses to be completely free of cost to the trainees.
